I followed the instructions, but I cannot connect to the internet through the range extender

If the problem arose after you installed the range extender, we recommend you try reinstalling it. Follow the steps very carefully. Click here for more information on the installation of your range extender.

It is very important to determine whether the range extender is too far from the router (or modem router). If the range extender is too far away, the connection will be poor and you may not be able access the internet through your range extender (or the connection may be very slow). Click here for more information on where to position your range extender.

If you cannot connect to the internet and you are using a range extender, it is not necessarily the range extender that is causing the problem. It could also be other devices in your network. If you have a separate router or range extender in addition to a modem, you will have to check all these devices.

Network setup

Modem or modem router

Start with your modem or modem router. The internet signal enters your home or office through this device. Connect multiple devices to it (tablet, smartphone, laptop, etc.), all at once or one at a time. Then try browsing to different sites. If you can browse the web with all the devices, the problem is not in your modem or modem router.

If you are unable to browse the internet with any device, the problem is in your modem or modem router or in the signal your provider is sending to your modem. In this case, please contact your internet service provider directly.

If the internet works on one device but not another, the problem is with the device that will not connect. Consult the documentation for your device.

Router

If you use a stand-alone modem, you must connect a separate router to it in order to share the internet connection. The problem could also be there. Always first check whether your router is correctly connected to your modem. Refer to the appropriate documentation. Connect multiple devices to the router (tablet, smartphone, laptop, etc.), all at once or one at a time. Then try browsing to different sites. If you can browse the web with all the devices, the problem is not in your router.
If the internet works on one device but not another, the problem is with the device that will not connect. Consult the documentation for your device.

Access point

It may be that the range extender does not directly connect to the router but rather through a connected access point. In that case, check that device too. Connect multiple devices (tablet, smartphone, laptop, etc.) to the access point, all at once or one at a time. Then try browsing to different sites. If you can browse the web with all the devices, the problem is not in your access point.

Range extender

Finally, check your range extender in the same way. Always check the connection between your range extender and the other devices in your network first.
